Tiger Leaping Gorge is world-famous for its huge drop. It is located in the east of Tiger Leaping Gorge Town, Shangri-La County. It is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle and Lower Tiger Leaping, with a total length of about 20 kilometers. The middle of the gorge is the Jinsha River, and on both sides are the two snow-capped mountains of Yulong and Haba. The narrowest part of the river is only 20 to 30 meters. With the huge drop, the river water is surging. Tiger Leaping Gorge is also a world-renowned hiking destination, and many outdoor enthusiasts come here every year.
