楽山大仏建立の理由
と言われている。 古楽山岷江、青衣江、大渡江が合流する地点の水は激しく、行き交う船が沈没することもしばしばあった。水を減らし、川を静めるために、海通師は人力と資材を集めて楽山大仏を建立した。大仏の建設が完成すると、実際に水はかなり穏やかになり、行き交う船は安全に通行できるようになった。
楽山大仏は楽山市の臨雲山七霞峰の岩壁にあり、岷江、青衣江、大渡江の合流地点にある。臨雲大仏とも呼ばれ、ユネスコの「世界文化自然遺産」に認定されている。その形は弥勒菩薩座像で、唐代の断崖彫刻芸術の傑作である。

楽山大仏は唐代に彫られ、三代の職人によって90年の歳月をかけて完成した。仏像は弥勒仏坐像で、高さ約70メートル、石彫りの巨大な弥勒仏坐像である。高くて荘厳な楽山大仏を見て、古代人が現代の大きな道具を使わずにこのような美しい仏像を作ることができたという事実に驚嘆してください。

霊雲寺は3階建ての中庭の建物で、大広間と経蔵からなる。この寺はとても人気があり、参拝に訪れる観光客も多い。また、霊雲寺の緑はとても美しい。木々に囲まれているだけでなく、多くの鉢植えもある。ここで仏教文化を体験するのはいい選択だ。
楽山の寝仏：川に横たわる仏陀を探す
