建造樂山大佛的原因
據說在 古乐山岷江、青衣江、大渡河三江匯流之處，水勢兇猛，過往船舶屢有沉沒。為了減低水勢，平息河水，海通法師召集人力物力，建造樂山大佛。大佛建成後，河水果然平靜許多，過往船舶也能安全通過。
樂山大佛位於樂山市岷江、青衣江、大渡河三江匯流處的凌雲山棲霞峰岩壁上。又稱凌雲巨佛，已被聯合國教科文組織批准為 「世界文化與自然遺產」。造型為彌勒佛坐像，是唐代摩崖造像藝術的傑作。
欣賞巨型石雕彌勒佛坐像
樂山大佛雕刻於唐代，由三代工匠歷經 90 年完成。大佛為彌勒佛坐像，高約 70 米，是一尊巨大的石刻彌勒佛坐像。觀賞高大雄偉的樂山巨佛，感嘆古人不用現代大型工具就能創造出如此美麗的佛像。
祈求平安與健康
樂山大佛一直是佛教聖地。在巨大的佛像前，雙手合十，平心靜氣地祈禱，祈求自己、家人和朋友平安健康。
凌雲寺
凌雲寺是一座三層樓的庭院式建築，由大殿和藏經閣組成。寺內香火鼎盛，來此祈福的遊客絡繹不絕。凌雲寺的綠化也非常好。不僅四周樹木環繞，還有許多盆栽。在這裡體驗佛教文化是一個不錯的選擇。
樂山睡佛尋找臥佛
在青衣江的江面上，有幾座山峰連接在一起。如果您仔細觀察，就會發現它的形狀很像一尊躺著的佛像，佛頭、佛身、佛腳都有。睡佛正面朝天，十分有趣。觀賞「睡佛」的最佳地點在樂山古城東迎春門碼頭一帶。

受歡迎的觀光路線是走樓梯到凌雲寺，然後到達佛頭，再從佛頭從九曲盤道走下來。到達佛腳時拍照留念，然後再走上去。另一種參觀方式是乘船遊覽大佛，可以遠眺大佛全景。
