The Old Summer Palace is a famous royal garden built in the Qing Dynasty. It consists of three areas: the Old Summer Palace, the Changchun Garden and the Qichun Garden. It is extremely beautiful in history and is known as the “Garden of Ten Thousand Gardens”. In 1860, the British and French allied forces burned the main buildings to ashes. Nowadays, tourists can only pay respects in the wreckage and look for the glorious empire of that year. If your imagination is not enough, you can go to the “Panoramic Model Exhibition of the Old Summer Palace in its Heyday” in Changchun Garden and experience the grand occasion of that year through the explanation of the docent.
